Orthodontic treatment serving customers from Doncaster, Lincoln, Sheffield and Nottingham
Last year more than one million people – an ever increasing number – across the UK had orthodontic treatment.
As a recognised expert in the field of orthodontics I have treated many mature patients, with satisfactory results. It is never too late to re-align displaced teeth for both medical and cosmetic reasons. Dental braces can be fitted onto the majority of people, and less conspicuous ‘invisible’ options are available for increased aesthetic comfort.
Treatment time varies between six months and two years depending on the severity of the problem, but the average patient will wear braces for 12 – 18 months, after which simple retainers are worn at night to ensure that the teeth do not move.
Although the processes involved in orthodontic treatments are not painful, there may be some discomfort experienced immediately after the initial fitting of the brace, with a repetition of these effects when the brace is periodically adjusted. However, patients who complete the treatment are rewarded with a much-improved smile and a huge confidence boost.
For many people who possess uneven teeth that were not corrected in childhood, the chance to achieve straight teeth is assumed to have passed with age, yet this is not the case. The number of adults wearing the new style of braces is increasing and the results are impressive.
